Finished this one now. I'd be happy if I never have to look at it again! Tried to keep the red in the sky minimal, although I still think it's a little overboard. So, this is my illustration of the plague, The Red Death from Poe's 'The Masque of the Red Death.' I have a violent urge to just fill the background with details, but something's telling me not to. I think I can get away with it as it is, since i'm just trying to portray the devastation of the plague.
Anyway, drawn with .7mm mechanical pencils, Sky was painted with acrylics, edited in photoshop. God damnit, there's a photoshop eraser smudge in the sky, urgh! And if you didn't notice it before, i've just drawn wonderful attention to it.
Wow, this is really gorgeous! I love the attention to detail here. It's so smooth! I like the background as is, so I think you're right to leave it alone. It kinda makes it feel like death is on the horizon.
so much pain and so much death and yet artwork like this has a thousand words and it explains alot in a paragraph about losing a love one and it can be painful to get over the grief over a loved one that past away bravo!!
great piece! i love how the entire picture is in gray except for the blood! i also like how you didnt just draw a pile of dead bodies, but there's a guy screaming on his knees and a person reaching their hand out. idk like this is just really really cool. and it was done in mechanical pencils too? awesome! lol

The detail in the faces, and the skulls too, and the hair! Oh man, a delight, as usual. I don't think you went overboard, it's just enough to convey what you wanted, yet not overdoing it. The blood on their fingers, and underneath some of the bodies is just lovely...well..not really, but you did it well !XD
If i can suggest you something.. the right arm of the dead girl seems too little. But maybe it's a question of prospective. However it's really fantastic.. The particulars of the skull, and the shades, are perfect.
Ah, it's bent upwards and further away than the left one, it's a kind of awkward position xD I think it's a case of just adding some more shading into it. I hope? Damn, you've got me wondering now! It's so difficult to notice when things don't look right when you've been staring at it for days
Ah, I understand you soo much ç_ç If you add a little bit of shading should be good. But when i fisrt saw her position i thought: "WTH, how did she do that?? It's so flexuous! and she also seems so confortable in the arms of the death."
